My Favorite Restaurant: Washington DC Edition- Le Diplomate
Around this time last year we were preparing for our trip back to see my family for the holidays. One of the best ways to break up a long road trip is to incorporate some fun pit stops. Last year we decided to make a little vacation out of our drive from NY to NC by stopping in Washington DC.
Washington DC is home to one of my all-time favorite restaurants, Le Diplomate. It is a cute bistro style, French restaurant that has a really authentic European feel. Located on 14th St NW it is surrounded by lively bars and restaurants and provides a great atmosphere for a fun night out.

At the holidays Le Diplomat really goes all out with the festive décor. From their Christmas Tree of baguettes, to the garland and wreaths that are strewn across the building. It is a great holiday date night or place to meet friends/family. In warmer weather make sure to get a seat on the patio!

The menu is full of rich, decadent, crave-worthy items such as Beef Bourguignon, Lobster Risotto, Steak Au Poivre, Duck l'Orange, Onion Soup, Crème Brûlée, and much more. I don't think I have ever left this restaurant without ordering an appetizer, dinner, and dessert- there is just too much to choose from!

Make sure to check out Le Diplomate the next time you're in the DC area!
